UVC LED Sterilization and Disinfection Light is for What Application

Since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, people have paid more and more attention to health and safety in public places. Driven by this huge market, many companies have introduced UVC lamps for disinfection and sterilization.

UVC radiation is a known disinfectant for air, water, and nonporous surfaces. UVC radiation has effectively been used for decades to reduce the spread of bacteria, such as tuberculosis. For this reason, UVC lamps are often called "germicidal" lamps. Currently, the UVC LED lights are used in shopping malls, hospitals, schools, canteens, cinemas, and other public places.

Where to place them
Install the lights above benches or along ventilation systems—about 30–50 cm above the plants or target surfaces.

How long to run them
A short cycle of 5–10 minutes before or after working hours is usually enough to kill germs without exposing workers or plants directly to the light.

Know the right dose
Most harmful microbes can be inactivated with a dose of just 2–4 mJ/cm² at wavelengths between 270–285 nm.

Use safety features
To protect workers, add shielding or covers, and use motion sensors or timers that automatically turn the lights off when someone enters the room.
