Smart Plant Factory Opens for Business

On January 5, 2023, the first digital agriculture project of Zibo Agricultural Development Group in Shandong Province, led by intelligent plant factories, was harvested in Guli Town, Huantai County, successfully producing the first crop of organic tomatoes. The project was officially launched in July 2021, so far the intelligent plant factory 1# greenhouse has been completed and put into operation, managed and operated by Kaisheng Haofeng Agriculture Co., Ltd. with a maximum daily output of more than 20 tons of tomatoes. 2-6# greenhouses will be completed within this year, and it is expected that after all of them are put into operation, the annual output of tomatoes will be 30,000 tons, with the output value of 600 million yuan, creating more than 800 jobs.

Smart plant factory, that is, without soil, pesticide, not affected by the natural environment, through digital control of the light, temperature, nutrition and other elements required by plants, under complete factory conditions to produce plants, represents the future development direction of agriculture.
